Understanding TravelCargo's Role

TravelCargo is EXCLUSIVELY a free technology platform that connects users. We:

  • Provide a digital space for communication
  • Facilitate connections between travelers and senders
  • Operate as a free community service

TravelCargo explicitly DOES NOT:

  • Handle, inspect, or transport packages
  • Verify package contents or legal compliance
  • Process payments or handle financial transactions
  • Provide legal advice or compliance guidance
  • Assume any liability for user actions or consequences

Travel Companion — Special Rules

The Travel Companion feature connects families with a kind traveler heading the same route as a parent. It is a free, goodwill feature and NOT a professional care, medical, or escort service.

For families posting a request:

  • You must be authorized to share your parent's travel details and your own contact information.
  • You retain full responsibility for your parent's safety, care, and travel decisions at all times.
  • Your contact email and phone are shown to logged-in members who offer to help — share only what you're comfortable disclosing.

For travelers offering to be a companion:

  • Companions are volunteers — never promise professional care or medical assistance.
  • Only offer help you can realistically provide, and use contact details respectfully.

TravelCargo only makes introductions and is not responsible for any person or outcome. Always verify identity, meet safely, keep family informed, and consider travel insurance.

Mandatory Legal Requirements

CRITICAL: Criminal Liability Warning

Transporting prohibited items across borders can result in:

  • Criminal charges and imprisonment (up to 10+ years)
  • Heavy fines (€10,000 to €50,000+)
  • Permanent criminal record affecting future travel and employment
  • Travel bans and deportation
  • Asset seizure and forfeiture
  • Civil liability for damages

SENDERS - Legal Obligations:

  • Verify legal compliance - Ensure all items comply with customs, import/export, and transportation laws
  • Accurate descriptions - Provide complete, truthful item descriptions and values
  • Obtain permits - Secure all necessary customs declarations and permits
  • Research restrictions - Understand destination country import restrictions
  • Insurance coverage - Arrange appropriate insurance for valuable items
  • Accept liability - Take full legal responsibility for package contents

TRAVELERS - Legal Obligations:

  • Physical inspection - Personally inspect ALL package contents before acceptance
  • Verify compliance - Ensure items comply with airline and transportation regulations
  • Customs declarations - Make all required declarations to customs authorities
  • Refuse suspicious items - Reject any packages that seem suspicious or unknown
  • Research laws - Understand import/export laws for all relevant countries
  • Accept liability - Take full legal responsibility for carrying packages

User Eligibility & Requirements

To use TravelCargo, you MUST:

  • Be at least 18 years old - No exceptions for minors
  • Have legal capacity - Able to enter into binding agreements
  • Verify your account - Complete email and phone verification
  • Provide accurate information - All profile and listing information must be truthful
  • Accept full responsibility - Acknowledge all risks and legal consequences
  • Comply with laws - Follow ALL applicable local and international regulations
  • Read legal documents - Understand Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Strictly Prohibited Activities

The following activities will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to authorities:

  • Transporting weapons, drugs, explosives, or other dangerous items
  • Violating customs, immigration, or transportation laws
  • Engaging in money laundering, tax evasion, or fraud
  • Misrepresenting package contents or personal information
  • Using the platform for commercial courier services
  • Harassing, threatening, or defrauding other users
  • Attempting to circumvent platform security measures
  • Providing false identification or verification documents

Mandatory Safety Requirements

Before ANY arrangement, you MUST:

  • Communicate extensively through the platform messaging system
  • Verify the other user's identity and verification status
  • Research all applicable laws and restrictions
  • Arrange appropriate insurance coverage
  • Meet only in safe, public locations
  • Document all agreements in writing
  • Have emergency contacts and backup plans

NEVER accept requests involving:

  • Sealed packages you cannot inspect
  • Unusually high payment offers
  • Urgent or pressured timelines
  • Vague or incomplete item descriptions
  • Requests to lie to customs or authorities
  • Meetings in isolated or private locations
  • Items wrapped to hide contents

Liability Acknowledgment

By using TravelCargo, you explicitly acknowledge and agree that:

  • You assume ALL risks associated with using the platform
  • TravelCargo is NOT responsible for any damages, losses, or legal consequences
  • You will resolve all disputes directly with other users
  • You have read and understood all legal documents
  • You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • You will not hold TravelCargo liable for any user actions or platform issues
